NRmC gives you hands on skill
I did my intern year in another state, and I didn’t get to do a lot of procedures. My first week at NRMC, I was able to do several new procedures, including a paracentesis. They teach us to do things correctly and then allow us to them ourselves.
I Chose NRMC
I went to Med School here and we had interaction with the residents here in our first and second years, and they always had great things to say about the attending physicians here and the nursing staff. I thought NRMC would be a great place to start.
Being the birthplace of Osteopathic medicine, I feel that the knowledge base of the physicians here is quite a bit wider than other hospitals.
Teaching Opportunities
We participate in critical care conferences and run code scenarios with students in the Human Patient Simulation Lab in order to perform these functions well. We also assist in Internal Medicine lectures throughout the year. The teaching opportunities are very rewarding.
