The Patient Experience

We are here for you and your loved ones to walk with you through this time of special need.

About 90% of hospitalized adults say they use religion to cope with illness. About 40% say that it is the most important factor that keeps them going. Northeast Regional Medical Center’s mission is to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve. We recognize that meeting the spiritual, emotional and religious needs of a patient is an integral part for caring for the whole person.

No matter your background or where you are spiritually, our chaplains are here to support you. We have trained and supervised clergy who are here to provide a supporting confidential presence of care for the patient, their families and the staff. We are here to meet you where you are no matter life’s situation.

    Support services include:

  • Emotional and Spiritual Support and Guidance
  • Birth Celebrations to End-of-life issues
  • Prayer
  • Overall Patient / Family / Staff support
  • Religious Tradition and Rituals
  • Crisis, Grief or Loss Support
  • DPOA (Durable Power of Attorney) / Advance Directives

    Living Will Issues

  • Crisis Intervention, Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation
  • Ethical and Meaning Questions
  • Helping work through thoughts, beliefs and emotions

Chaplains are available 24 hours a day, but work hours are typically from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

The Chapel

Chapel

The chapel is available 24 hours, 7 days a week located next to the Jefferson Street Café on the first floor. The chapel is a “sacred space” provided for all faiths and religious backgrounds to utilize. We encourage you to stop and take time to “connect” with yourself and your creator. The Chaplain(s) pray daily for the prayer requests placed in the prayer box located outside the Chapel.
