KIRKSVILLE, MO (July 7, 2025) - Cynthia Green, BSN, RNC-OB, director for women’s services at Northeast Regional Medical Center, has renewed her national certification focused on fetal assessment, pregnancy complications, labor and birth, recovery, postpartum and newborn care as part of her commitment to leading the hospital’s care for OB patients. Green was recently awarded the Inpatient Obstetric Nursing certification by the National Certification Corporation (NCC). The NCC is a not-for-profit, accredited organization that provides certification programs in women’s health, obstetric and neonatal specialties for licensed healthcare professionals, particularly those working with vulnerable populations.
“I love learning; being in a rural area makes it all the more important to provide clinically current and evidence-based care to our patients,” states Green. “I maintain this certification because of the focus on underserved patients and the need for maternal and newborn comprehensive care. It’s so satisfying to know we are providing quality care with a personal touch.”
Green has been an employee of Northeast Regional Medical Center since 1979 when she started her nursing career as a nurse’s aid. In 1984, she graduated from Truman State University, at the time named Northeast Missouri State University, and started her focus on labor and delivery. In 2000, she was named Director of Women’s Services.
Patrick Avila, NRMC CEO, supports staff in pursuing additional certification and education opportunities. “At NRMC, we encourage our team members to go beyond the basic training requirements for healthcare. Supporting ongoing education, advanced training, and continuous learning opportunities is essential to the high-quality care we deliver throughout Northeast Missouri.”
