Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Surgery
Northeast Regional Medical Center offers a variety of surgical treatments to address ear, nose and throat conditions (ENT, or otolaryngology), including minimally invasive endoscopic and robotic surgery techniques. Ear, nose and throat doctors (otolaryngologists or ENT doctors) have a broad range of experience to provide surgical treatment for everything from nasal congestion and hearing disorders to a deviated septum or broken nose.
Board-certified ENT doctors provide many treatment options, including:
- Hearing-loss solutions, including cochlear implants, bone conduction devices and ear-tube surgery
- Laryngeal and voice solutions
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck
- Skull base tumor treatment
- Sinus surgery, including laser treatments, endoscopic techniques and radiofrequency ablation
- Septoplasty
- Tonsillectomy, or surgical removal of tonsils
- Treatments to correct chronic snoring, sleep apnea and other related disorders
- Turbinate surgery
The otolaryngology department at Northeast Regional Medical Center is committed to providing patients with minimally invasive ENT surgery options, such as:
- Balloon dilation surgery - In this procedure, small, flexible devices are inserted into the nostrils to gently open blocked sinus openings to alleviate symptoms of chronic sinusitis. This technique results in less bleeding and a quicker recovery, and it does not limit further treatment options.
- Transoral robotic surgery (TORS) - Surgeons use robotic surgery to gain greater accuracy and surgical precision for treating mouth and throat cancers. This robotic technique results in less pain and scarring, and can provide a quicker recovery for patients.
