Northeast Regional Medical Center Welcomes New General Surgeon

Kirksville, MO - Northeast Regional Medical Center (NRMC) is pleased to announce that Jacob Guerrant, D.O., has joined the NRMC medical staff. A Missouri native, Dr. Guerrant, general surgeon, is trained to provide a broad spectrum of advanced surgical services, including preoperative, operative and postoperative care. Dr. Guerrant has joined Dr. Steven Lyons at Northeast Regional Surgical Specialists.
“I chose to come to NRMC in Kirksville for several reasons. The team is very supportive of each other with a strong patient care focus and pride for their department and community. I felt my surgical focus would align well with the needs of the community,” shared Dr. Guerrant. “Kirksville has been nothing but welcoming and I am excited to call it home.”
Dr. Guerrant attended medical school at Kansas City University and completed his general surgery residency at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in Michigan. Dr. Guerrant is trained to provide minimally invasive robotic-assisted surgery, when appropriate, which supports faster healing, less pain and reduced risk for infection.
“We are extremely pleased to welcome Dr. Guerrant to Kirksville and to have him join the NRMC Medical Staff,” said Dwayne Blaylock, NRMC’s interim chief executive officer. “Dr. Guerrant will be a great addition to Kirksville and Northeast Missouri. He brings a patient-centered approach and strong surgical skills.”
Dr. Guerrant enjoys raising his two children with his wife, who is also a Missouri native. In his free time, he also enjoys hunting and fishing.
