Ten Resident Physicians Celebrate Graduation from Northeast Regional Medical Center Residency Programs

KIRKSVILLE, MO (June 12, 2026) - Northeast Regional Medical Center (NRMC) recently celebrated the graduation of ten resident physicians from four medical education programs. The residency programs include dermatology, family medicine, osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine and internal medicine. Resident physicians have completed medical school and are now pursuing specialized training and clinical experiences. Residency programs at NRMC take 3 years to complete. Once a physician completes residency training, they can sit for national certification exams to become board certified in their chosen specialty. Residents are an integral part of the healthcare team, particularly in rural areas.
“As the Founding Osteopathic Institution, we take immense pride in being the oldest osteopathic hospital dedicated to providing graduate medical education,” shared Dr. Kent Blanke, director of medical education at NRMC. “Our program’s success and continuous growth are a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in medical training.”
Several graduates achieved high honors and were recognized during the ceremony. Multiple local providers and nursing staff were also honored at the graduation ceremony.
“Collaboration is essential to the program. The training physicians and staff are motivated by a deep sense of duty and commitment to the future of healthcare,” Dr. Blanke stated.
The NRMC graduate medical education programs are preparing for a new cohort of medical residents, who will be joining the programs in late June.
